Painter Don Grieger to present demonstration Tuesday ? The Daily ...

BATAVIA ? Noted Batavia artist Don Grieger will present an oilpainting demonstration when the Batavia Society of Artists gathersTuesday at the Genesee-Orleans Regional Arts Council, 201 East MainSt.

The meeting is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m.

The public is welcome to attend the demonstration. Admission is$3; free for Society members.

Grieger, who received his education in engineering, beganpainting in the 1970s and is largely self taught with a fewworkshops taken with Charles Movalli and Roger Curtis, andcritiques by Carl W. Peters.

Grieger works primarily in oil and prefers landscapes done onlocation, something he does frequently with the All-Weather Gang, agroup of landscape artists from Western new York.

Grieger?s paintings have been entered in many national andregional juried exhibits, earning more than 50 awards. he exhibitsregularly at the famed Salmagundi Club in new York City.

The artist?s paintings also hang in corporate, public andprivate collections in 35 states and Canada, Europe, South Americaand Australia. His work is represented by the G.C. Lucas Gallery inIndianapolis, Ind., and the Union Gallery in Lambertville, N.J.
