SEATTLE (AP) - Boston Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington admits his current team "is hard to watch."

Cherington offered the assessment Monday before Boston played at Seattle.

The Red Sox went into the series with a six-game losing streak, having lost all of them on the road while being outscored 54-15.

Boston has lost seven of nine since sending stars Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett and Carl Crawford to the Los Angeles Dodgers in a nine-player trade.

Cherington calls the team's sad state is "a reflection on all of us."
