Some folks in Siouxland are calling out the Commander-in-Chief, the opposition is rallying just one day before the President of the United States visits Siouxland.
But their main concern isn't over something that's happening right now, it's over what didn't happen one year ago.
"You could kind of describe Obama as a fair weather friend," said Sioux City Councilman Keith Radi.?"He's one that's only there when he needs something from you, but when we needed his leadership he was nowhere to be found."
Those harsh words were aimed at the President Friday, coming from a Republican Rally at Bev's On The River in Sioux City.
President Obama's making the rounds in Iowa, he spoke to a crowd of students in Ames Tuesday.
"Will we make sure that more good jobs and opportunity take root, not in China or India or Germany but right here in Iowa and all across America so you don't have to leave home to get those good paying jobs?" said President Obama.
He'll make stops in Des Moines and Sioux City Saturday, but those aren't the trips making some folks upset.
It's a lack of travel, actually. Specifically: during last year's flood.
"Businesses just shut down for about four months," said Dick Salem, VP of United Commercial Real Estate.?"At least in this community in Siouxland it was a very sobering situation, we could have used the President of the United States to help at that time."
Those folks are upset that?the President didn't assess the damage, or even stop in Siouxland.
They're also made he's visit now, during his campaign.
"Now that the flooding is over and Iowans are starting to get their life back in order, President Obama decides to come to Sioux City," said Jim Roscovius of Sioux City.?"Why now? Only because he needs our votes."
