IIBA Career Center: Business Analyst jobs, Education jobs, Calgary ...

QUALIFICATIONS: The Business Analyst will often be working on projects, and in a team based environment working directly with stakeholders and representatives. As such they must have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience achieving successful outcomes in a project and team based environment. Additionally, the successful candidate should have the following:

? Baccalaureate degree with an emphasis on business analysis and education / skills in both business and information technology.

? 3-5 years related experience, with a professional record of accomplishment in business analysis - assessing business needs and working in a team environment to translate requirements to optimal business solutions and project delivery.

? Experience working in the area of business intelligence and the Cognos tools is highly desired, assessing information requirements and support of design and delivery of data integration and analytical based reporting solutions.

? A thorough working knowledge of business needs analysis and change management principles and practices, with ability to interpret user needs and follow-through to user acceptance, training and support of change initiatives.

? Excellent analytical, organization and project management skills, with strong attention to detail, consistent and accurate work.

? The ability to interact professionally with a diverse group including executives, managers, technical staff and subject matter experts within the operating units.

? Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to synthesize information and document business requirements.

? Experience using software and tools to support business analysis and project implementation. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook) and working knowledge of business systems required.

? Demonstrated initiative and ability to prioritize, follow through, and meet deadlines.

? Ability to work both independently and as a team member, and exercise discretion and good judgment.

? Experience in post-secondary education operations will be beneficial.

Note: Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
